FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
We’re not here to hand out pity. We’re here to hand out tools. Our program combines backcountry adventure, real fitness, yoga, breath-work, and nutrition with a relentless focus on the issues that lead veterans into isolation. We keep our teams small — never more than a 2-to-1 participant-to-leader ratio — so every veteran gets personal attention. The impact per veteran is higher than almost anywhere else.
Our headquarters is in Great Falls, Montana, but our operations stretch across the entire state — rivers, mountains, and wilderness from border to border. Our team leaders live all over Montana, and some even out of state, so our network is wide. Every trip taps into the raw beauty and challenge of the Montana backcountry, the best training ground there is.
The program began as a graduate school project for our Executive Director, Luke Urick. Our Operations Coordinator, Scott Moss, suggested creating the Pig Egg — 75 pounds of steel filled with dog tags for every American lost in Iraq and Afghanistan. That weight became our symbol: life is heavy, and you carry it together. There’s a longer story, and if you join us on a trip, you’ll hear it around the fire.
